Questions merchants ask
Does it change checkout or order emails?
No. Shopify checkout, order confirmation and shipping emails, and customer account pages keep their normal wording. Mint Speak only works on your online store's English pages.
Can it change a price, a size or a product detail?
It's built not to. Anything written with a number (prices, quantities, sizes, dates, SKUs), links, e-mail addresses, form fields, variant pickers and cart line properties are skipped, and the voices never swap meaning-carrying words such as sizes, colours, materials, allergens, warnings, “free”, “sale”, “no” or “not”. Product names stay as they are by default.
Will it affect my search rankings?
Shopify serves exactly the same page to every visitor and search engine; the voice is applied in the shopper's browser after the page loads, and page titles, search tags and structured data are never touched. On a theme day, search engines that run scripts may see the voice like any visitor that day.
Are the voices respectful?
They're playful characters from stories and films. On purpose, there are no voices that imitate how real communities or regions speak, and the word lists contain no swearing, slurs, adult or violent words. Your own word swaps are checked against the same list.
What does it store about shoppers?
Nothing on our servers. A shopper's choice stays in their own browser — for later visits only when their privacy choices allow it — and voice use is counted anonymously.
Does it work with my theme?
It's a theme app embed for Online Store 2.0 themes such as Dawn and Horizon. You switch it on in the theme editor; no code is added to your theme.
